Blonde is a complex creature. It can be gold…honey…platinum…and, sometimes, a clever combo of all of them. So when our Global Artistic Team Member, Mark Mileti, is faced with a blonde color correction, he skips traditional two-tone looks with lightener; and instead, uses five different formulas from Joico’s LumiShine Color Collection to create the most stunning, multidimensional beige-blonde hair color.

Section out the hair by creating a zig-zag part around the hairline, paying attention to the density and natural hairline. You should end up with two sections on either side of the face, in front of the ears and three sections in the back. Pin the top-half of the hair out of the way.
Then, start at the front triangle of the zig-zag part, and weave fine highlights to frame the face using Formula 1. Leave out a slice of hair in between each foil. As you move through each triangle, alternate the direction of the foil based on the part. This is going to add brightness to the face. Continue to the next triangle and repeat the process until you’ve gone all the way around the head.
TIP: Fully saturate the hair in each foil to get an even application.
