Repeat for four more foils until you reach the occipital bone, keeping an inch of hair between each foil. This helps create accent pieces underneath and blends the overall look. Repeat on the other back section. Move on to the Mohawk section, weaving a fine section at the hairline. Lay it on a foil and apply Formula
STEP 2. Repeat until you reach the back of the Mohawk section at the crown.
STEP 3. Next, move on to the section on the side of the face. Take a slice right below the Mohawk section. Gently backcomb the hair and paint Formula 2 in a V-shape, focusing on the ends. Repeat down the side section, using your artistic judgment to determine placement. Repeat the foilayage technique on the other side of the head.
STEP 4. Return to the Mohawk section. On some of the hair left out of the foils, paint the mids and ends with Formula 2 to add pops of brightness at the back of the hair. Process until the hair is a pale yellow, then shampoo and condition with Joico K-PAK Color Therapy.
STEP 5. Apply Formula 3 as a shadow root, bringing it down ¼ inch. Use a brush to tap the gloss so it’s not too perfect. Apply Formula 4 on the rest of the hair. Process for 10 minutes, then shampoo and condition with Joico K-PAK Color Therapy. Style as desired.
